The foremost self-defence style

There are many ways of writing Ju-jitsu (Jui-jitsu, Ju Jitsu, Jui Jitsu, Ju Jutsu are but a few) non of these are wrong, yet they all refer to the same thing. The foremost martial for self-defence in the real world. Many martial arts teach you how to kick and punch, however very few altercation are controlled enough to keep the distance required for that style of fighting.

Ju-jitsu on the other hand revels in close combat scenarios, this makes it ideal self-defence for women, children and men alike.

Ju-jitsu combines many techniques from other martial art such as judo, aikido and karate so effectively you are in fact learning more than one martial art. this then allows the style of fighting to alter to best suit the situation and the student themselves.

Training Principles

The techniques that we teach can be extremely dangerous when performed by untrained or unskilled persons, it is therefore imperative that these techniques are only practiced in the dojo with instruction from a qualified instructor, and only used as self defence when no other alternative is available.

Dojo Etiquette

It is important that each student shows the proper respect for the Dojo and their instructors.
With this in mind the students are expected to follow some simple guidelines.

All students will :

  1. Arrive in good time for the Lesson.
  2. Ensure that all nails are kept short and any long hair is tied back.
  3. Remove all Jewellery before commencing training. (Wedding bands excluded however they must be taped up).
  4. Refer to a Dan grade as Sensei.
